What? Is the right amount for OverTime

I strongly believe that only the ones, who are willing to go the extra mile, will be successful in life in general, but also in particular in their professional career.

Going the Xtra mile

Working long hours and also at the weekends is the normality for me. At the end, you are measured against the quality of your work. Whether it is facing a challenging deadline or preparing for an important client presentation, at the end it is your reputation on the line.

It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it.

There are professions, where a nine to five routine is absolutely sufficient. Yet, in general these are not well paid. Positions with high salary normally come with high pressure, many responsibilities and hence with a lot of work. But only with a well paid job, you can built your strong safety net and reach your ultimate goal to be financial independent.

Allocate time for study or investment

But does that mean that should spent all your time to thrive in your current job? Not at all. If you don’t do anything else, when how can you improve your skills? How will you learn how to invest and convert your savings into passive income? In other words, how will to get FuckYou!Skills & FuckYou!Money?

You need to find the right balance, how to distribute your time. If not, you will never escape from the nine to five rat race. Work is often so challenging and there is so much to do that you need to allocate a fixed time slot. You can use it to study for a certification or to progress with your passive income. But no matter how busy you get at work, that time slot is fixed and cannot be cancelled or rescheduled under any circumstances.

If you’re this successful doing work you don’t love, what could you do with work you love?

For me that slot is Sunday mornings. After a good sleep, I make myself a morning coffee and continue working on my financial independence. While anyone else is still sleeping, I am definitely having the most productive hours of the week. I did it for so long and so well that this couples of hours each week, now generate more revenue than the salary I get for the fifty hours I spend at my corporate job. Still, I enjoy doing what I do, because it is my IKIGAI. You want proof, then visit Yummy Cups : High Protein Ramen.
